How to buy Crypto with Fiat Money (KuCoin)

There are many ways to buy crypto with fiat money and sell crypto for fiat money. Since this course focuses on KuCoin, we will only cover that for now.

Before you can start trading, you first need to buy cryptocurrencies. There are a number of ways to buy cryptocurrencies from the KuCoin homepage, including Credit/Debit Card, Bank transfer and P2P.

Before getting started, please make sure you have completed the identity verification.

How to buy crypto with Credit/Debit Card

You can choose to buy crypto with different fiat currencies. Enter the fiat amount you want to spend and the system will automatically display the amount of crypto you can get.

Note: You can only buy USDT directly on KuCoin with a credit card. If you want to buy other coins with your credit card, this only works through third party providers, which are listed on Kucoin. It does not work directly through KuCoin.

Once you have entered the desired amount, click on the button ‘Buy USDT’ below.

Follow the instructions and enter your card information. Then click on ‘Next’.

Now you need to enter your billing address and click on ‘Confirm’. Your card will be added.

After that you need to confirm your purchase one more time and review the payment details again.

Then you will be redirected to your bank’s OTP Transaction Page. Follow the on-screen instructions to verify the payment. When you are done, you can instantly see the purchased crypto in your KuCoin Wallet.

How to buy crypto via Third-Party

As I mentioned before, you can only buy USDT with a credit card directly on KuCoin. Other coins (e.g. BTC, ETH, LTC, etc.) can only be bought with credit card, through third party providers. In the following we will explain to you exactly how we do that on KuCoin, and also how we buy coins through third parties via bank transfer.

Now you get directed to this site. Here you can enter the amount and select the currency, before you choose your payment method as well as your payment channel.
In this case we are choosing credit card as a payment method and we are using simplex as a payment channel.

After you have entered the amount and selected the payment method and payment channel, you can review the payment details and click on ‘Confirm’.

Then you get directed to the payment channel simplex. Now you are on the checkout page and need to enter your credit card information. When you are done, click on ‘Next’.

Then you need to enter your billing address and some personal data before you click on ‘Pay Now’.

After you have followed all these steps, a 4-digit code will be sent to you via email. You need to enter the code on this page. Then click on ‘Continue’.

Following this, you will need to choose the currency in which you would like to pay. It is best to pay in your local currency. Then again click on ‘Continue’.

After the email is verified and you have chosen the currency, you may be asked to submit your identity document and enter its details in the document upload page.
You might also be asked to upload a selfie with the card – photo or video – as proof of card ownership.

If all of these steps are successfully completed, your payment will be approved and the coins will be sent to your wallet address. It will reflect in the wallet as soon as it is confirmed on the Blockchain.

Depending on which payment channel you use, the processes may slightly differ.

Buy Cryptos via Third-Party with bank transfer

You can also buy coins on KuCoin via Third-Party providers with bank transfer. The process is very similar to the one with credit card.

As before, log in to your KuCoin account and hover over ‘Buy Crypto’ on the homepage banner. Then click on ‘Third-Party’.

Now you get directed to this site. Here you can enter the amount and select the currency, before you choose your payment method as well as your payment channel.
Here we have selected USD as currency and then we would click on ‘Bank Transfer’ in ‘Payment Method’.

Here is another example with Euro as currency. With Euro you can choose between several types of transfers. SEPA, Giropay, Sofort Banking, iDEAL, Bancontact. In our example we use SEPA and Simplex as payment channel.

And as always, after we have entered the amount and selected the payment method as well as the payment channel, we can review the details and then click on ‘Confirm’.

After pressing confirm, you will be prompted to the payment channel page (in this case Simplex), where you will be required to enter your payment details. Later on, you will be asked to enter your personal details such as the billing address – address, city, zip/postal code, country and then the contact details – your email, date of birth and phone number. You just need to follow all the instructions given there. It will be a similar procedure as for the purchase with a credit card.

If all of these steps are successfully completed, your payment will be approved and the coins will be sent to the wallet address that was used in the transaction. It will reflect in the wallet as soon as it is confirmed on the Blockchain.

How to buy crypto with P2P

Then you get directed to the P2P-Trading site. First of all you have to click on ‘Payment Settings’ to select a payment method.

Now you need to click on ‘Add’ to add a payment method.

Select one of the following payment methods and click on ‘Complete’.

Then you can enter your information and click ‘Complete’ again.

After that, you need to input your trading password, and you will receive an e-mail or SMS code for verification. Once you have entered the password and the code, you can click on ‘Submit’.

Your payment method is now updated, you can see it displayed here.

Then you go back to the P2P-Trading site. Here you can choose your desired advertiser. Once you have selected one, click on ‘Buy’.

After you click on ‘Buy,’ this window will open. In this window, you can see how many coins the advertiser has available, the price, and the limit for one transaction.

On the right side, you can enter the amount you want to buy, and the number of coins you will receive is displayed directly below. After you enter the amount, click on ‘Place Order.’

Now you can review the order details, select a payment method and read the attached remarks from the advertiser. You can also contact the advertiser on the right side.

Below you can see how much you must pay and how much time you still have left.

Once you have transferred the amount, click the ‘Mark as Paid’ button.
